Andrë Kadi, Marya Zarif
Marya Zarif, born and raised in Syria, studied communication and theater at INSIS (Institut national de l'image et du son du Québec) in Canada. In 2013, she co-created The House of Syria, a tribute to Syrian culture, and in 2015, she helped start I want to play, an organization working with Syrian refugee children. In 2020, she created the web series Dounia, which later led to the feature film Dounia and the Princess of Aleppo (2022). André Kadi, a French comic book writer and musician living in Canada, has directed works like MaXi (2017) and L’Agent Jean! (2018). He co-directed the Dounia series and the film adaptation Dounia and the Princess of Aleppo.
